Why don't my Entry Prices in my Portfolio Match my Broker?

The most common reason for these prices not matching between your brokerage site and the TradeSmith Finance Platform is cost basis being used at one site and not being used at another. We have a feature that will update your entry prices automatically using the latest "cost basis" from your broker when you purchase additional shares at different prices, but only if our data vendor is able to retrieve this information from your broker.

You will want to check to see if you have cost basis turned on for your position on our site:

Settings

Cost Basis

This should be turned on by default when you first sign up with us. You can try toggling this off or on and then refresh your portfolio to see if that shows more accurate data when comparing to your broker.

If your broker does not provide cost basis then you would have to manually alter the entry prices if you would like them to match the data at your broker.
