Step 1: Import Your Brokerage Account.

You can import your brokerage account and track your positions in TradeSmith Finance. To learn more, click here.

Step 2: Tour your TradeSmith Dashboard.

Your TradeSmith Dashboard is packed with widgets of information designed to quickly assess the health of the major markets, view your publications, TradeSmith CEO Keith Kaplan’s X Feed, view newly recommended newsletters, and find potential investment opportunities.

Go to the Dashboard at the top navigational header.

The Business Quality Score widget will quickly become your go-to-favorite tool to help you assess a company’s profitability, growth, safety, and payout fundamentals.

The widget includes a Search for Company window that lets you research any security’s BQS. The information includes the latest price and BQS score, which you can click to dive deeper into the fundamental metrics.

The BQS score ranges from 0 to 100, with higher scores indicating stronger company fundamentals. To the right, you will see the strongest and weakest companies, according to our BQS.

For more information about your Dashboard and your available widgets, click here.

Step 3: Research a new potential trade.

Start by entering the company name or ticker in the “Search for Ticker” field, on the upper right, and select it from the drop-down menu.

The site will route you to the Asset Details page, where you can research your ticker.

At the top right, you will see the ticker’s price data, which is date and time-stamped and includes the information you find most pertinent when researching a new security.

The statistics pills shown in the screenshot above can be customized by clicking the “Customize Statistics” link.

There are numerous tabs of information below.

For example, the Indicators tab displays the overall stock rating and considers several technical and fundamental metrics.

Step 4: Review crypto health and top market leaders.

Our Crypto Market Outlook provides an unbiased view of the current crypto market by examining the CCi30 (Crypto Currency Index 30).

The CCi30 is a rules-based index created to objectively track the performance of the entire cryptocurrency market. By monitoring the 30 largest cryptocurrencies by market capitalization (excluding stablecoins), it provides the most reliable benchmark for investment professionals seeking broad crypto exposure.

To access the Crypto Market Outlook, go to the Markets page.

You will see the CCi30 and its 30 constituent cryptocurrencies displayed by default in a tile view:

Each tile card includes the crypto name and ticker, intraday price data, Short-Term Health status, Risk (VQ%), 52-week price range, and a 1-day chart.

The CCi30 card also includes the Short-Term Health distribution and displays the percentages of Green, Yellow, and Red Zone cryptocurrencies in the CCi30.

The Short-Term Health distribution can be an important gauge of how the overall crypto market is performing.

Another feature that helps you find the top stocks and ETFs is the Performance Leaders tool.

The Performance Leaders widget highlights top-performing stocks and ETFs across U.S. and international markets, sectors, and industries. You can filter results by specific performance time frames, such as Today, 1 day, 5 days, 2 weeks, 1 month, 2 months, 3 months, 6 months, 52 weeks, or year-to-date (YTD), 1 year, 2-year, 3-year, and 5-year.

For example, across all sectors, tickers XES (oil and gas equipment/services) and TAN (solar companies) have the highest one-month percentage change.

Step 5: Set up your baskets.

A basket is a watchlist that helps you stay organized and informed about the crypto assets you are monitoring.

To access your baskets, go to the Baskets page.

On the Baskets page, you will see two sections:

  • My Baskets: This section contains any custom baskets you’ve created.
  • TradeSmith Baskets: This section includes pre-built crypto-related baskets.

For example, you will see several TradeSmith baskets such as Markets, Most Searched Cryptos, Stocks, S&P 500, and SPDR ETFs.

To create a new basket, click the Add Basket button. You can choose from creating a basket from scratch with the “Add Basket” link, or you can import a CSV spreadsheet of securities into a new basket.

You can also add your newsletters as a source to your newly created basket.
