Hi everyone! Kristin Magenst here. I am your Product Education Specialist. TradeSmith provides various ways to find new opportunities and stay informed.
Today, I'll show you how to stay informed and discover new opportunities with TradeSmith's powerful tools. Specifically, we'll dive into the Market Calendar—a feature designed to keep you in the loop on upcoming corporate events for your baskets, and newsletters.
Whether you're tracking earnings reports, dividend announcements, or other key events, the Market Calendar ensures you never miss a beat. Let's explore how this tool can enhance your investing strategy and keep you ahead of the curve!
Let’s check it out together.
To access your Market Calendar, go to the Calendar page at the top navigational header. You can view a weekly or monthly view of corporate actions.
The market events for the current day are listed below and broken up into key corporate events.
Understanding when dividends are paid allows investors to plan their investments to receive these payouts, which can be an important part of their income strategy. Knowing the ex-dividend date is especially important for those looking to capture dividend payments.
Stock splits can affect the number of shares an investor owns and the stock's price per share. Understanding the timing of splits allows investors to make informed decisions about buying or selling shares before or after the split.
Earnings reports often cause significant volatility in stock prices. By knowing the earnings calendar, investors can position themselves either to benefit from the anticipated price movements or to protect their portfolios from potential downside risks.
Information about IPOs can provide opportunities to invest in new companies at the ground level. Knowing the IPO dates helps investors decide if they want to participate in the initial offering and strategize accordingly.
You can even review insider transactions for any given calendar day. Insider refers to professional investors such as company officers, directors, and relatives of employees who may have access to inside company information before it is made available to the public. Large insider buys are notable because they signal that the insider believes in the company and expects shares to increase in value.
To adjust your calendar preferences, click the Filters button.

For example, we can find upcoming earnings or dividends for our Money Mover baskets.
And that’s all there is to it!
Staying informed about corporate events helps you make well-timed, strategic decisions, manage risks, and take advantage of opportunities, ultimately leading to more profitable investments.
