TradeSmith FAQs
How secure is TradeSmith's online brokerage synchronization?

Your Security is our priority.

The synchronization process in our Platform is either a read-only data transfer or Open Banking, depending on your brokerage.

For read only-data, we use bank-level encryption to import your portfolios. None of your brokerage account login information is stored on our Platform; we can only import data that is shared by your brokerage.

Open banking is a financial services model that allows third-party developers to access financial data in traditional banking systems through application programming interfaces (APIs), in other words, your brokerage provides us with the account details they want to share with us, making the connection safer.

Be assured that your security is our top priority. No one at TradeSmith can access your brokerage information.

We do not connect to brokerages directly, but we work with two data aggregator companies that handle all brokerage sync connections on our behalf, Yodlee and Plaid. Our data vendors can link to thousands of brokerages.

Our main default vendor is Yodlee. This page contains information on their security policies.

Plaid is our alternate data vendor we use to cover some brokerage sites. This page contains information regarding their security.

These Data vendors specialize in Financial data transfer for worldwide banks, brokerages and credit card companies. Their security is up with your brokerages standards.
