Once you sell a position, you can opt to keep your closed position records in TradeSmith so that we can show your overall portfolio performance over time. To close a position in your manual portfolio, take these steps:
- Click the down arrow to the left of your ticker symbol. In the drop-down, click Close Position.

- In the pop up that appears, enter your close date, close price, quantity and commission (1). You can enter a partial number of shares if you are only selling a portion of your position, and the remainder will remain as an open position.
- We will add the position to a "Re-Entry Watchlist" (2) if you choose to leave this enabled on Yes. We will then alert you when the position triggers a Re-Entry alert and moves back to the Green Health Zone if it was in the Red Zone.

IMPORTANT: You can not manually close positions that are in synchronized portfolios (partial or complete). These positions should automatically update within 1 to 3 days of being sold at the brokerage. An exception to this is if we did not receive the "sell" transaction correctly from your broker. In this case, we will set a red triangle on the left of your sold position, with a hover over message "Position was not detected at brokerage". You can then follow the same steps above to close it manually.
