Louis Navellier’s methodology identifies stocks with the greatest potential to outperform the market by focusing on three key factors: strong fundamentals, strong buying activity, and improving ratings trends.

The process starts by evaluating a company’s financial strength, including sales and earnings growth, as well as overall business performance. Companies with stronger financials receive a higher Fundamental Grade.

Next, the methodology looks for stocks with strong investor demand and positive market momentum. The Quantitative Grade measures buying pressure, market sentiment, and other important market indicators.

Finally, Louis' system tracks a stock’s rating trend over time, favoring stocks with improving ratings, which may signal growing strength and positive market sentiment.

Together, these factors create the Total Grade.

The Fusion Score builds on this framework, using AI to combine Stock Grades and TradeSmith Indicators into a single measure of signal alignment. The score seeks to identify the best opportunities from the universe of Grade A stocks.

The Fusion Score combines three layers: the Stock Grader fundamental score, the TradeSmith Short-Term Health signal, and the AI Fusion Score. A stock must pass all three to be included in the portfolio.

Qualifying stocks must pass the TradeSmith Short-Term Health check. A great company is not always a great trade — this layer evaluates current price action to confirm the stock price is already on the move. It is the timing filter: strong stocks that are not yet in motion are held out until conditions change.

Finally, stocks that clear the first two layers are scored using the AI Fusion Score - a machine-learning model trained on years of market data to identify patterns that tend to lead to strong short-term moves. The Fusion Score is expressed as a percentile from 0 to 100; the higher the score, the more promising the opportunity.
