Accessing Settings & Customizing Your Alerts
To access your program settings, click your first name’s initial in the upper right of your program site and select Settings.

Your program settings menu will appear on the left of the window. Since this guide focuses on your alert settings, please click Alerts.

The Alerts menu enables you to set automatic alerts, adjust for dividends and spinoffs, tailor system alerts across your portfolios, newsletters, and baskets, and control how you prefer to be alerted.
Automatic Alert Creation
TradeSmith can automatically create alerts on new positions as they are detected in your brokerage account and synchronized into TradeSmith Finance.
You can set automatic alerts for your stock and options trades. For example, to enable automatic alerts for your stock positions, toggle its respective button to read “Yes.” You can then click the stock alert drop-down menu to select your templated alert.

Alert Options
With the Alert Options feature, TradeSmith will adjust your entry price and highest close price for dividends and spinoffs since your entry date. Please note that changing this setting will only affect future positions added in TradeSmith Finance.
This feature should be enabled by default; however, you can toggle it to read “Yes.”

System Alerts
System alerts are global alerts that can be set across your portfolios, newsletters, the Billionaires Club (if available, depending on your subscription), and baskets.

There are several system alerts, and they may vary depending on your subscription.
The Health Indicator is organized into long-term and short-term, depending on your holding preference. The Health Long-Term is designed for holding securities for 12 months or longer, whereas the Health Short-Term is intended for holding securities for less than 12 months.

A green check mark indicates that the alert is enabled under its respective category. For instance, if you are following the Health Long-term for your investment portfolios, you should check the Green, Yellow, and Red Zones. If you want to be notified when a new Entry Signal is triggered (Health status goes from Red to Green) for the Long-Term Health, check the Entry Signal box as well.
The New High Profit alert will notify you when a new high has been hit since your entry date.
The Stock Rating Updates pertain to our Stock Ratings by TradeSmith program and will notify you if your stock changes its bullish or bearish rating based on numerous technical and fundamental indicators.
The Company Events (Form 8-K) is ideal for notifying shareholders of any significant events, such as bankruptcy.
Alerts Consolidation
The Alerts Consolidation feature allows you to group your alert notifications.
- Single Report: Sends alerts in a single email.
- Great for those who receive too many emails.
- Grouped Reports: Sends alerts from our data provider after each delivery of closing prices.
- You can receive alerts based on the closing prices for each region, which may apply to our foreign investors.
- Individual Notifications: Sends you a separate notification for every triggered alert.
- This feature may significantly increase the number of daily notifications you receive.
Alert Volume
This feature lets you select how many times you’d like to be emailed about the same alert. In our example below, we set the maximum consecutive alerts to 2, so if an alert is triggered, we’d receive an email about it twice in a row.

Remove Triggered Alerts
This feature will remove triggered alerts. For example, if an alert was triggered, it would be removed from your position. By default, this feature is set to “No,” giving you complete control over whether to remove an alert.

If you make any changes to your Alerts settings, don’t forget to hit the Save button at the bottom of the page.
