Sometimes, positions are delisted from TradeSmith. This can happen for a number of reasons but the most popular are:
- The position was delisted due to a corporate action or bankruptcy
- The position changed exchanges
- The company changed names
- The company changed their ticker symbol
In your portfolio, you will notice a red triangle with an exclamation point in the middle and a "D" in the status column. The date the symbol was delisted will appear in the "Exit Date" column and the last price will appear in the "Exit Price" column.
When you hover over the triangle, a pop-up is displayed that explains what the error on that position is:

If the symbol is still traded, perhaps on a different exchange, then the position can be manually added again and the old version deleted.
If your portfolio is manual, you can follow the steps in this article to add the position again.
If your portfolio is synced, you will need to delete the delisted position first, then restore the portfolio by following these steps:
- Under My Portfolios, go to the Manage sub-tab
- Click the green "Refresh" icon to the left of the portfolio name
- Choose "Restore Positions" on the next step
- Hit the green "Synchronize" button
The symbol will be re-imported from your broker.
*Note - The tabs and features you see on your TradeSmith Finance site will vary based on subscription(s) and subscription level(s). The pictures in our Education Center articles are taken from a TradeSmith Platinum account.
