Trade Booster: Your Gateway to Income Opportunities

Aug. 20, 2025

👋 Hi folks! I’m Marina Stroud, Senior Product Education Specialist here at TradeSmith. Thanks for joining me for this quick tour of Trade Booster.

Intro to Trade Booster

Trade Booster is your gateway to Options360, our premier options program. It helps you uncover income opportunities through two strategies: buy/write covered calls and sell puts.

Best of all, you can scan opportunities across your newsletters, publications, and tickers you search in TradeSmith Finance.

Today, I’ll show you how to use Trade Booster right inside your program site.

Getting Started

First, log in at finance.tradesmith.com. No matter which product you subscribe to, you’ll start here.

👉 Feel free to pause this video anytime and follow along on your own account.

Let’s start with your navigational tabs at the top header.

The Dashboard serves as your homepage and central hub. It features the Index Carousel, showcasing U.S. and international indexes, along with a Market Outlook that reflects their current health status. You’ll also find recent publications, Keith’s X feed (formerly Twitter), and a My Services section that highlights your most recent newsletter recommendations. Rounding it out is the Performance Leaders widget, spotlighting top-performing stocks across U.S. and global markets, sectors, and industries.

Think of your My Services page—located right in the top navigation menu—as your personal newsletter command center. From here, you’ll gain access to everything you need to stay on top of your subscriptions, optimize your strategies, and take control of your financial journey.

As we dive in, you’ll notice a variety of newsletter-related tabs on this page, each designed to help you stay organized and efficient.

Your TradeSmith Newsletters will appear at the top. Every week, you will receive a wealth of educational editorials that highlight our tools, empower you to stay informed about current market trends, and provide insightful investment opportunity ideas.

  • Inside TradeSmith is a biweekly editorial written by Senior Analyst Mike Burnick. Mike reviews TradeSmith features and tools and provides market insights based on our signals.
  • TradeSmith’s Market Minute is editor Jeff Clark's insights. They’re short looks into the state of the markets, focusing on options trading, and shouldn’t take more than two minutes to read.
  • TradeSmith Daily is a daily educational editorial that provides the latest market news and highlights trending sectors and industries as they pertain to our tools.

You can click any newsletter icon to go to the publication’s site page.

Next up is the Portfolios tab.

The portfolios tab includes your active TradeSmith and newsletter affiliate subscriptions.

Last but not least is the Overview tab

The Overview Tab gives you a snapshot of your active subscriptions.

With this feature, you can:

  • See top-ranked newsletter recommendations based on our algorithms,
  • Explore the best-performing recommendations.
  • View recently opened and closed trades.

The Calendar page provides access to your market calendar, displaying a weekly or monthly view of upcoming corporate events for U.S. stocks.

The Filters button at the top left allows you to refine your corporate action parameters.

The filters are organized by source type, country of exchange, and events.

Under “Source Type,” you can choose from a country of exchange, active newsletters, or baskets.

By default, “All” corporate events will be selected; however, you can refine your search based on specific corporate actions.

If you make any changes, don’t forget to hit the Apply Filters button.

That’s all there is to the Market Calendar.

Next, let’s look at Baskets, your customizable watchlists.

A basket is a watchlist, and you know watchlists are important when investing because they will help you stay organized and informed about the stocks, ETFs, or other assets you are monitoring.

On the Baskets page, you will see two sections:

  • My Baskets: This section contains any custom baskets you’ve created.
  • TradeSmith Baskets: This section includes pre-built baskets.

This page displays the number of tickers within each basket and any available notes.

To create a new basket, click the Add Basket button at the top left of the page.  You can also import a spreadsheet by clicking the Import from CSV button.

Creating a basket is simple. You will start by naming your basket at the top of the page. You can also add any notes.

Below, you can add individual tickers or add sources, such as your newsletter recommendations.

For example, I will create a Billionaires Club basket by selecting the Billionaires Club from the Newsletter Recommendations drop-down menu and hit Save.

There are approximately 3,400 tickers to find opportunities. To open the basket, click the basket name.

Please remember that you can ONLY edit the baskets you create under My Baskets.

To edit or delete your basket, click the blue drop-down triangle:

When you check the white boxes to the left of each basket, you will notice a menu at the bottom of your screen with the choice to delete the selected baskets.

To find buy/write covered calls or sell put opportunities, click the Trade Booster button on the top right next to the Search this page feature.

You will then be directed to the Trade Booster strategies page, where you can review the available strategies for your basket positions.

If I want to find short-term income opportunities with a sell put, I can deselect “buy/write covered calls.”

I can also refine my search by clicking on the Filter button. For example, let’s adjust our Days to Expiration to less than 45 and sort by Max Profit in descending order.

Once your filters are set, hit the Apply Filters button below.

The heart of the Options360 system and what gives you an “edge” are our probability of profit (POP) and return on investment (ROI) indicators.

Our POP is unique to Options360.

The POP tells you your odds of success with an options trade. This calculation is based on our proprietary risk-management tools, including the Volatility Quotient (VQ) and the trading history of the underlying stock.

The ROI tells you how much money you can expect to earn over the time frame of the options trade.

You can combine these two powerful indicators to find options trades with the best balance between probability, success, and return on your money.

Our algorithms help identify the best probability of profit (POP) to return on investment (ROI) trades so that the odds of success are in your favor.

Let’s examine the Option tile card and the information that will allow you to research each option trade and its underlying asset at a quick glance.

  • Options360 Strategy Overview:

The initial view of the option tile card provides general information about the options trade. This includes the option and stock tickers, max profit, POP, capital required, target ROI for a margin, and cash-secured, and assignment cost.

The assignment cost is basically what it would cost you if the put is exercised and you’re assigned the stock.

You can scroll through the option tile card by clicking the left or right arrows.

  • Underlying Asset:

The Underlying Asset view provides information about the underlying stock, such as the latest price and the next earnings date.

  • Underlying Asset Price Forecast:

The Underlying Asset Price Forecast is a graph of the maximum directional moves of the underlying asset at expiration. The underlying asset’s price can range between the cone’s two blue outer edges.

  • Top Spread:

If available, we include the top vertical spread – with the highest POP to ROI – to define your trade’s maximum profit and the highest possible loss.

  • Key Statistics:

The last view of the options tile card provides interesting statistics on the underlying asset and its price movement.

The option and stock ticker links will direct you to separate pages, where you can review the options trade and the underlying asset in more detail.

Now, what if you have a ticker in mind?

Enter any ticker symbol or stock name within the “Search for Ticker” field at the top right of your site.

I will search for Tesla (TSLA) and select it from the drop-down menu. The site routes you to the Asset Details page, where you can continue researching the ticker in more detail, along with its chart.

To find sell put or buy/write opportunities, click the Trade Booster button.

The site routes you to the options strategies page, where you can view potential sell put and buy/write covered call opportunities.

The Options360 Buy/Write Covered Call strategy identifies the most profitable trade setup to create a new covered call on a stock you don’t currently own. The idea is to buy the recommended stock and sell the covered call. The tile card information is based on 100 shares of the stock and one contract of the sell call.

The option tile card displays the probability of profit (POP), max profit, and annualized return on investment (ROI) if the option is assigned or NOT assigned.

This buy-write strategy looks for the best income opportunity, whether the option is assigned or unassigned.

  • If there is a high probability that the buy/write covered call will be assigned, that means your 100 shares of Tesla will be called away.
  • If there is a high probability the buy/write covered call will NOT be assigned, you keep 100 shares of Tesla.

If you don’t want to own at least 100 shares of Tesla, you can sell a put option and collect the premium.

That’s a wrap on today’s lesson!

Trade Booster provides unique access to Options360 buy/write covered calls and sell put income strategies for your newsletters, publications, and baskets.
