Signals: Model Portfolios

Published: May 6, 2026.

The Signals Master Portfolio is a model portfolio using the Signals technology.

The Signals Master Portfolio and any additional Model Portfolios we develop for Signals are available to Signals by TradeSmith and TradeSmith Platinum subscribers.

How the Signals Master Portfolio Works

The portfolio holds three stocks at a time. Each stock is selected by the system’s algorithm using multiple factors, including historical performance, probability metrics, and current market conditions.

When a stock reaches its exit signal, you’ll sell the position and replace it with a new Signals trade. Simply follow the trade alerts and guidance from Senior Analyst Lucas Downey to manage your positions.

For example, if one of the three stocks triggers an exit signal, you would close that position and enter the new recommended trade the following trading day.

Portfolio Allocation

The portfolio is designed to use equal dollar allocations across all three positions. When a stock is sold, the funds are reallocated to the next Signals trade.

How to Access Your Model Portfolio

To access your Model Portfolio(s), go to the Signals page at the top navigational header.

By default, the Position Alert Notifications are turned "On." This setting lets you receive emails when positions are opened or closed, or when alerts are triggered in your model portfolio.

For further customization, please go to your program settings. The link within the Notifications window will take you directly to the Notification menu of your program settings.

Viewing Each Signal

Each Signal card will include the ticker symbol, the company name, and the company logo. You will also see the Entry Date, Entry/Exit Rule, and Category.

You can click on the Entry/Exit Rule link to get more information:

Accessing Your Model Portfolio(s)

To view the Model Portfolio's open, closed, or all positions, click the "View in Model Portfolio" link at the bottom right of the portfolio signal cards.

Note: Signals change daily. When you click on a ticker, you may see a different signal than the one shown in the model portfolio, or there may be no active signals available at that time.

The site will route you to the Model Portfolios tab of the My Portfolios page.

You can review pertinent information about the positions, such as the entry date and price, the latest price, the gain percentage with dividends, and the exit date and prices.

You can also search the page for tickers, print the page, and export the holdings to a spreadsheet.

The Overview tab will provide all the information you need on the model portfolio's performance and approach to following the strategy.
